Leader Mentoring

Leader Mentoring

A recent study by Bersin and Associates found that 62% of all organizations surveyed say that leadership development is one of their top three talent strategies, yet, only 37% of those organizations rate the leadership capabilities of their top executives as excellent.  Clearly, there is a big gap.  Inner Resources in conjunction with the Arch of Leadership provide a distinctly different and proven leadership program to develop leaders.  We do it through a concept called Leader Mentoring.

Leader Mentoring — What is it?

Leader Mentoring differs from traditional methods of developing leaders.  It emphasizes not talents and skills used in executing a vision or initiative, but the qualities and values of life that are needed to sustain oneself in the creative endeavor.

We say: “No mentors, no leaders,”  Yet, this great, ancient, and necessary catalyst for learning has been neglected by our training and development industry.

Leader Mentoring comprises a qualitatively different experience and outcome than does coaching. For any executive who wants to succeed, coaching has proven its worth. But leader mentoring touches something else: how leaders can shape their lives so that they can step into larger challenges and risks to accomplish something greater than they ever have before.

Our approach delves into the true significance of mentoring.  Our programs introduce new concepts by asking aspiring leaders as “mentees” to open their hearts and minds and think differently. It reaches for the true history, tradition, and spirit that motivates mentoring as “leader mentors” are trained in the art of being present in guiding a mentee’s journey toward deeper self-trust and their own brand of leading.

How We Do It

Our Leader Mentoring targets individuals charged with driving strategic change initiatives within an organization from the CEO to functional managers. The Leader Mentoring process brings an innovative approach to the development of creative, authentic leaders. With a focus on self-discovery and one’s ‘skills of character,’ aspiring leaders work with Inner Resources’ Certified Leader Mentors in strengthening their ‘Self-Trust’ to lead and defining how that shows up in engaging others through their ‘Leader Brand.’

The outcome of this work is to strengthen the leader’s own ‘Resolve’ in making the tough decisions and leading the critical and often harder challenges that allow change to happen through their organizations, industry and communities. Leader Mentoring - The Program

Growth Strategy Inc is a certified leader for the Arch of Leadership

Enter the Arch The Arch of Leadership was created to help people develop the personal perspectives and practices that will nurture their ability to lead creatively, and over the long haul.

Each leader brings deeply personal and individual talents to this challenge. No single “training formula” will help every leader. The Arch of Leadership features individualized mentoring and group experiential learning programs to help leaders onto a self-directed path of life-long leadership learning.

Arch of Leadership programs are most appropriate for business owners, senior and mid-level managers and team/project leaders who confront leadership challenges every day.

The Leader Mentoring Program provides a series of eight (8) one-on-one mentoring sessions with a trained Arch of Leadership Mentor. Working through the Arch of Leadership’s Self-Discovery Journal with required readings and exercises, the individual gains valuable insights and perspectives on themselves that guide their process in developing their own leader brand.

In addition to the individual mentoring sessions, there are four group sessions with others in the mentoring program that is facilitated by the Arch of Leadership Mentor. The group sessions add another dimension of learning to the individual mentoring process. Each session is designed to build further support for the leader in bringing their day-to-day realities of leading into open dialogue on actual leader challenges, experiential learning to gain deeper insights into the impact of your leader brand and action ideas to put your brand to work right away.

The program is self-paced giving an individual the appropriate amount of time to work through each step of the learning, discovery and call to action process. We also give you unlimited contact with the mentor outside of the one-on-one sessions (primarily by telephone or email) to maintain a positive and forward-looking momentum in your learning.

This program will improve your ability to:

  • Inspire others to deliver top-flight performance, unprecedented results, each and every day.
  • Evoke dedication from your stakeholders so you can count on them to take initiative on your vision.
  • Continuously develop your leadership skills throughout your career, and do it your way, not the hard way.
  • Develop personal practices that enable you to sustain your energy, drive and commitment.

In-House Leader Mentoring

In-house professional mentoring programs are those for four to sixteen executives within one company.  Over a six month period there are a series of readings and workshops designed to develop the leader within you.

Usually sponsored by the CEO, the program will:

  • Provide high potential, aspiring leaders with state of the art mentoring.
  • Assure high quality leaders are active throughout the organization so that when leaders are needed to guide change, the organization has them.
  • Provide a path for developing the successors to key, senior executives.
  • Institute an awareness of the value of leading throughout the organization.
  • Inspire great managers to step fully and confidently into leading.
  • Provide senior leaders with a vision for their future as leaders, beyond their current positions.

Our Goal:

We know leaders continuously push themselves to achieve superlative executive effectiveness and continually strive to open themselves to ever-widening horizons. The Mentors help leaders to envision, achieve and communicate their broad and encompassing visions and translate them into realities. Seeing new possibilities, leaders inspire outstanding performance from their peers, employees and associates by eliciting their increased dedication and initiative. The successful efforts of leaders result in enduring organizations whose successful, new products, services change people’s lives.

Our Mission:

Mentor creative leaders that build organizational value, inspire success and enhance quality of life.

Our Focus:

Our mentors focus exclusively on working with promising executives who are ready to enter the life of leading. It is true that management or executive coaching is invaluable to an organization’s effectiveness, but there is no substitute for mentoring leaders who are ready and willing to guide large scale endeavors of change.

Our mentoring program helps leaders at all stages of their careers fully appreciate the demands that leading makes on one’s life. No list of leadership traits or competencies can do this. Only the attentive appreciation of a dedicated mentor enables a leader to explore what the profound, challenging and exhilarating experience of leading is about.

Our concentration on mentoring leaders guides people into this exciting life that is dedicated, more than anything else, to affecting other people’s lives.

The lessons learned in our mentor relationships are applied right away, and enable leaders to fulfill their potential, to the full extent of their commitment to leading, to their followers and to the organization.
